No, l do not believe that all citizens have adequate access to legal assistance. I believe the Bar Association should mandate certain hours of pro-bono for all attorneys.

Nature of the crime, criminal record of the accused, safety of the community, ability to make bond. I believe that the nature of the crime should be the primary consideration.

The war on Drugs has had mixed results. I believe that mandatory prison for non-violent drug offenses is not the answer. They need care and rehabilitation.

A judge’s responsibility should include making use of alternative sentencing especially when it comes to non-violent offenders and drug addicts. Those with mental health should be sent for treatment instead of incarceration.
